Wilkin Chapman Rollits is recognised by The Legal 500 for its regulatory and public law expertise and is known for its work on complex governance, investigations, public law and regulatory matters for clients across the public and private sectors. The team is noted for its "impressive track record" and nationally recognised expertise in local government standards work.

We're looking to recruit a Solicitor or Associate to join our growing Regulatory & Public Law team. Whether you're already specialising in regulatory and public law or bring transferable experience from litigation, governance, education, employment or investigations, we'd be keen to hear from you. We are also interested in candidates already working in-house in local authorities or other organisations who wish to move into private practice.

This is an opportunity to work on a diverse and intellectually stimulating caseload, within a friendly and supportive team. You will advise local authorities, other public bodies, education providers, regulated organisations and private sector clients on matters including:

  • Governance, decision-making and constitutional matters
  • Regulatory investigations, misconduct and ethics cases
  • Judicial review and public law challenges
  • Information law, GDPR and data protection matters
  • Standards, conduct and compliance issues
  • Education and SEND-related public law matters
  • Policy development, training and strategic governance advice

Our team combines leading legal expertise with real-world experience, including lawyers who have worked within local authorities, policing and other highly regulated environments. We pride ourselves on delivering practical, commercially focused advice while building trusted, long-term client relationships.

With a full-service offering and a diverse client base, Wilkin Chapman Rollits continues to grow, while maintaining our commitment to quality, innovation, and client-focused service.

We combine deep local and sector knowledge with the strength, resources, and reach to handle any challenge—offering the best of both a large firm and a trusted, client-focused partner.

We invest in your career, offering a great benefits package and a supportive, sociable working environment. You’ll be joining a community of like-minded professionals who value collaboration, innovation, and excellence across our locations in Grimsby, Lincoln, Louth, Hull, York and Beverley.

At Wilkin Chapman Rollits, we are committed to attracting and retaining individuals from all backgrounds. We believe diversity fosters a values-led culture, fuels our growth, and creates opportunities for our colleagues to develop and succeed. As a Disability Confident and Armed Forces Friendly employer, we are dedicated to an inclusive environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported.
